Drawn, Vol. 1 // Artist Profile

Crooks Press, Melbourne, Australia

"Emily Krueger is a graphic artist in Northern Minnesota, USA. She takes influence from traditional scientific and botanical textbook illustrations, as well as animal themes and style from the work of Beatrix Potter. She enjoys detail, line work and soft colouring.

Apart from a lifetime of sketching and local drawing classes, Emily graduated from Bemidji State University (Minnesota, USA) where she studied both fine art, with an emphasis in oil painting, and graphic design. She is able to use both skills learned at Bemidji State in her illustration work..."

Emily Krueger Draws the World

Northern Minnesota has no shortage of talented artists. If you drive through downtown Bemidji, you might just see the work of Emily Krueger. Emily is an illustrator and designer, rooted in Bemidji, and she's created everything from logos to event posters to murals - though her background is in fine art. Emily has proven that she's a versatile artist and she joined us in studio as she prepares for an important artistic transition.

Ae Featured Artist Interview : Emily Krueger

"I make paintings & illustrations of things that I like, and that I like to look at. My hope for my artwork is that it’s both enjoyable, and interesting for its viewers. I want people to glance at it, then come back and take a long squinty look at the different colors and textures." - Artist Emily Krueger, Ae Featured Artist

Altered Esthetics is proud and honored to bring Bemidji-based artist Emily Krueger to the Twin Cities. She will be showing three pieces with Ae starting Wednesday, September 2nd at NorthGate Brewing. Two of the three are new works.

In this interview, Emily tells us who she is, what she is currently working on and what blogs she likes to frequent. She also discloses some goals she has a professional artist. You will also learn that she loves to go outdoors. This isn’t very surprising as her work is nature-infused.

It turns out Emily and her husband Steven play Fantasy Genesis on a regular basis, and they were kind enough to post these great creations up on Facebook. She’s just a wickedly talented young illustrator, with a bend towards animals and typography it seems, and anyone looking for new editorial work with those qualities, would do well to give her a holler.

Emily is incredibly talented with her nature inspired illustrations using great colors and textures.
